Access to Higher Education Diplomas are Level 3 qualifications which prepares people without traditional qualifications for study at university. They are well established and widely accepted by universities, qualifying for UCAS tariff points that are comparable to the tariff points for three A levels.
Access to HE courses are for students aged 19+ who wish to return to education in order to prepare for studying a Higher Education course. Learners who have studied with us have progressed onto a number of prestigious universities to complete degrees in various subjects, including Medicine at St Georges, Pharmacy at Kings College London, and Mechanical Engineering at City University amongst many others.
These courses are suitable for adults (anyone aged 19+) with a wide range of previous educational or career experiences who now wish to pursue further study within Higher Education. You will gain the relevant academic subject knowledge needed for higher education study as well as the opportunity to develop study skills to help you to succeed. You will also develop your practical skills in some of our bespoke learning spaces. You will be assessed through a range of methods, including assignments, exams, presentations, observation of practical work and practical reports.
Advanced Learning Loans are available for eligible students studying Access to Higher Education courses. If you go on to successfully complete a relevant Higher Education course, you will not be required to pay the loan back.
Need GCSE maths or English?
If you need to retake these all-important qualifications, don’t worry. Our centres offer GCSE English and maths courses that can be taken alongside your main qualification. Speak to a member of staff at enrolment to get back on track with these core subjects.
